BAD Foundation Member Beaches COVERED. was born in 2014 and promptly established itself as a sophisticated, independent local magazine gracing coffee tables, cafés and social hotspots, not to mention local businesses, transport hubs, hotels and shopping malls, spanning from Mosman to Manly and up to Palm Beach.

At the height of the pandemic Beaches COVERED. publisher, John Vickery, joined James Griffin, MP for Manly, to discuss a recovery plan for the Brookvale area. Suggestions of street-side festivals with food trucks, music, culture and more, sounded like a plan. John was stoked to see passionate locals take the reins and bring these and more ideas to life through BAD (Brookvale Arts District).
